MANUAL REMOVAL TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS

Could you be experiencing symptoms of an earwax build up?
Earwax is a waxy substance secreted from glands in the earcanal. One of it’s main properties is to protect the eardrum from dirt/dust/foreign bodies etc. However, if wax builds up too much within the ear canal it can become a problem and present a range of unpleasant symptoms until it’s manually cleared.
Symptoms can include:
Feeling of fullness in the ears
Loss of hearing/muffled hearing
Tinnitus
Itchy, uncomfortable ears
Loss of balance/dizziness
Fatigue

How to prepare for your earwax removal appointment
In order to loosen the wax making for a comfortable procedure, we ask you use an olive oil based drop/spray in the ears for around 4-5 days prior to your treatment.
Warm water irrigation is a gentle, controlled low pressurised flow of warm water that allows wax to be gently washed away from the ear canal.

HEARING SCREENING TESTS
Our hearing screening tests are a quick 4 frequency test to assess your hearing health and identify any hearing loss. If a hearing loss is present, we can advise you on the best next steps to take in your journey to better hearing. We only refer on to the best audiologists in the area.
In the event that treatment isn’t needed at your earwax removal appointment, we will carry out a hearing screening test instead to further assess your current symptoms.
This test is not suitable for those already wearing hearing aids.
